New Baby Bib designs
This weekend we had a friend who needed Baby Shower gift. We searched new designs and this is what we came up with. What do you think? We also did another one will show it after the shower. We've been using bibs from BabiesRus bibs. They embroider pretty easy and seem good quality at a descent price. Thanks for looking! SPC

Tell a Fairy Tale Day
Tell a Fairy Tale Day
Stuck for something to do today? Grab a piece of paper and start with the words "Once upon a time..." Then add some fairies, a gnome and a dragon or two. When you are done, you'll know what to do!

National Pistol Patent Day
National Pistol Patent Day
February 25th, 2013
There probably isn't a long line for pistol patentees at the patent office anymore, not since Samuel Colt and his infamous multi-chamber gun in 1936. So thanks. Mr. Colt, for giving the world another word that just keeps sounding funnier the more we say it. Pistol. Pistol. Pistol.

National Tortilla Chip Day
National Tortilla Chip Day
Contrary to popular belief, tortilla chips are not from Mexico. They were invented in Los Angeles in the 1940s. Stick that in your guacamole!

Single Awareness Day
Singles Awareness Day
February 15th, 2013
Sick of all your married friends setting you up on blind dates? Tired of uncomfortable silences with your friend's cousin, the single doctor? Despite what the smug marrieds may think, there is nothing wrong with being single. So get out there and go solo proudly.

Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day
February 14th, 2013
Expectations are really high today on the romance factor. There better be a candlelit dinner, flowers or candy in your future or someone's sleeping in the dog house tonight.

Lame Duck Day
Lame Duck Day
February 6th, 2013
Not about your poor injured pet, this day is to commemorate the 1933 ratification of the 20th Amendment about presidential succession. After each election there is a period of out with the old, in with the new, where the old president does his best to seem useful while the new one gets all the attention.

National Weatherman's Day
National Weatherman's Day
February 5th, 2013
Contrary to popular belief, weathermen cannot, in fact, see into the future. These days they use all sorts of dials, knobs and fancy computers to predict whether the weather is going to mess up our day. Seeing how completely wild weather can be, we think we should be glad we have them. Even if they didn't see all this rain coming. Really?

Another wonderful day to explore the world of science! Because we are pretty sure this day has nothing to do with keeping the carpets clean. Or does it???

Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day
February 2nd, 2013
This meteorological rodent tradition began as Hedgehog Day in England. Early settlers brought the tradition across the Atlantic, but it turns out there were no hedgehogs in America, so they had to settle on the lowly groundhog. To make matters worse, our groundhogs apparently sleep later than their hedgehogs, so when it comes time for the big day in Punxatawney, PA we have to nudge Phil awake to tell us whether we'll have 6 more weeks of winter. Hedgehogs would never need nudging.

Freedom Day
National Freedom Day
Celebrate Again on February 1st, 2013
Established in 1948 to commemorate the signing by Abraham Lincoln of a resolution that later became the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery. It is a day for all Americans to promote harmony and equal opportunity. Many towns have Freedom Day celebrations and in Philadelphia a wreath of flowers is placed around the Liberty Bell.

Spouses Day
Spouses Day
January 26th, 2013
Our spouses are always there when we need them, and not just because they live in the same house or because they're legally tethered to us. Today, do something nice for your spouse. Or don't, but remember it's winter, quite cold outside and road conditions might not be ideal for fleeing, so you could be setting yourself up for an uncomfortable evening.

National Day
National Opposite Day
January 25th, 2013
Today isn't national opposite day. So don't celebrate by doing the opposite of what you mean to do and saying the opposite of what you mean to say. Then again, if you don't want to do something you shouldn't do just because it's the opposite of what you should do, then consider what you don't want to do the thing that you do want to do, then you won't do what you don't want to do and you will do what you do want to do and everything should work out fine. We think.

Countrified Curtain Rod and Holders
Lynn and I used plow tips for curtain rod holders, cedar tree as a rod and jute rope as curtain rings. Look out Martha Stewart. This would be great in a cabin.
